A handwoven and embroidered Persian Baluch area rug. This flatweave rug is rendered in a bold palette of sapphire, carnation, clementine, slate green, white, and eggplant. The rug features an eggplant colored ground with an embroidered lattice pattern of diamonds and animal head motifs to the field, and framed in a main border of striped diamonds, and sawtooth patterned guard borders, as well as a panel of latticed S-motifs to the ends. Finishing this unique rug are triple overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.

Condition
