1854-1857 Elkington & Co. Shakers and Cellars with Other Silver Plate Tableware
Item Details
An assortment of silver plate tableware and serveware. Featured are a pair of circa 1857 footed salt and pepper shakers with bishop style lids and a pair of circa 1854 hoof-footed salt cellars with bead-and-reel trim, all by Elkington & Co. of Birmingham. They are accompanied by four trays in various styles and sizes with chased scroll, shell and floral rims including International Silver Co. and Ellis-Barker Silver Co. Also included is one footed open sugar bowl, one unique fluted salt cellar with a gold washed interior, a toast rack and a pair of knife rests. Some of the items bear maker’s marks to the undersides.
Condition
- surface wear to all items; many of the items are heavily tarnished and scratched.
