An oil painting on canvas of an equestrian hunting scene, created in 1895 and signed ‘D.F. Rogers’. This work features a group of English folk on horseback with some hunting dogs gathered to the right, set in a distant green landscape. The painting is dated and signed to the lower right. It is presented in a gilt and gesso frame with foliate relief moulding.
Condition
- rubbing and paint loss along edges; small accretion spots and stains scattered throughout; color fading throughout; wear in frame includes stains, dripped gold-tone paint, and scratches throughout.
