Antique Clear Glass Apothecary Jars, Including Label-Under-Glass Examples

A group of nine antique clear glass apothecary jars, including eight label-under-glass examples. There are six jars with pontil marks on the undersides, which are labeled ’G’D.SINAPIS.BR’, ‘SINAPISNIG.’, ‘PULV.ULMUS.’, ‘AQUA.CAMPHOR.’, ‘TINCT.BELLAD.’, and ’COMPOSIT’N.’ The lot also comes with two examples labeled ‘POT.CHLOR.’ and ‘GLYCERINUM’, the former marked ‘W.T. & Co. / Pat. Apr. 2, 1889’ and the latter embossed ‘W.T. Co. / C’. The last jar has a raised base marked ‘W.R. Warner & Co Phila’D PatD SepT 18 1875’.

Condition

- scattered wear, residue, and imperfections; some chips, mostly to stoppers and labels; labels also with some small edge losses, cracks, and discoloration.
