Pair of Jean Virginia Hogan Etchings

A pair of etchings on paper of harbor scenes by educator and artist Jean Virginia Hogan (American, 1909 – 1995). The first print depicts a fishing boat on a dock with nets hanging up. The second print depicts a busy harbor with crowds of people. To the verso of each print, an estate stamp is printed with the artist name. Each print is presented unmounted and without frames.
Jean Virginia Hogan studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the A.E. James School of Fine Art. She exhibited her work along the East Coast and even displayed her work in solo exhibitions in New York City. Hogan was known for printmaking, painting, and her long career as an educator.
Condition
- wear and discoloration to the edges of each print; creasing to the top left of each print; rip to the right of the smaller plate; foxing to the right edge of each print; to the verso of each print, staining and wear.

- measurements of one paper; each paper is approximately the same size; largest plate size 9.25" W x 7.75" H; smallest plate size 7.25" W x 5" H.
