Chinese Silk Embroideries
Item Details
A group of three hand-stitched Chinese silk embroideries. The first piece is unframed and depicts a bird perched on a flowering branch of red and blue blossoms. Also included are two framed works depicting a butterfly with flowers and figures playing in a park, both presented behind glass in gold tone wood frames with hanging hardware to the versos. The works are all unsigned and bordered with a woven ribbon and finished with a framing silk brocade fabric. The unframed piece is marked ‘Made in China’ on a sticker to the verso.
Condition
- gaps in trim on unframed textile: appears to have missing stitches causing the gap between the trim and the ground; foxing and discoloration on outer trim; residue on verso of textile; wear to edges of smaller frame; textile taped to backing of frame; discoloration on pink trim; backing paper punctured on larger frame; debris on verso of frame; wear to bottom right corner of frame.
