Item Details
A hand-knotted Pakistani Kazak style area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a variegated palette of cherry, cerulean, cream, navy, peach, ivory and celadon. It begins with a vertical pole of three diamond medallions over a cherry field. The field is populated with a variety of symmetrically arranged double crosses, florettes, hooked diamonds, and other geometrically shaped symbols. Framing the field are five borders, including four borders featuring rosette patterns, while one features a meandering pattern. Selvedges are double overcast in a checkered pattern, and finishes at each end with wool warp fringe. There is a label to the underside as well.
