A limited edition lithograph on paper by well-listed artist Max Papart (French, 1911 – 1994). Number 115 in a limited edition of 120. The piece is editioned and signed by the artist in graphite to the lower margins. Housed in a silver tone metal frame under acrylic glass.
Max Papart was known for his Cubist style landscapes, portraits, and circus-themed scenes. Papart received his formal art training in Paris, learning classic engraving techniques. The artist strove to achieve symphonic compositions that acted as windows to both entertainment and engaging thought. Today, Papart’s work can be found in numerous private and public collections, including the Musee d’Art Moderne (Paris), Victoria and Albert Museum (London), and more.
Condition
- minor wear to the finish on the frame; water stain to the paper along the upper and lower edges under the rabbet.
