Guillaume Azoulay Colored Pencil Drawing "Grape Carriers"

A colored pencil drawing on paper titled Grape Carriers by listed artist Guillaume Azoulay (Moroccan, b. 1949), dated 1994. The work depicts a pair of Greco-Roman figures carrying a bushel of grapes. Signed and dated by the artist to the lower right corner. Housed in a composite frame under matting and acrylic glass. To the verso is a certificate of authenticity.
Azoulay is well-known for his abstract paintings. Born in Morocco, the artist and his family moved to Paris when he was a boy. Largely self-taught, Azoulay sold paintings in the Paris streets to tourists. Later, the artist received a degree in drama after being rejected from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. The artist has exhibited throughout the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. Currently settled in California, the artist’s work can be found in numerous private and public collections, including two pieces in the Louvre.
