Chinese Ceramic Garden Stool
Item Details
A Chinese ceramic garden stool. The barrel shaped seat has a pale yellow background and a tracery of pale gray swirling lines reminiscent of cloisonne. Larger floral and scrolling elements are painted in blues, coral, and black. Bands of flowers and vines encircle the top and bottom of the seat. A panel featuring a depiction of two cranes in an evergreen tree is painted on one side while a large character meaning ‘longevity’ (壽) is outlined on the other.
