Pair of Hand-Knotted Tekke Bokhara Wool Accent Rugs
Item Details
A pair of hand-knotted Tekke Bokhara wool accent rugs. One of the two rugs features eight pairs of white, orange and black Tekke medallions on a scarlet red central ground, flanked by arrowhead cruciforms. The guard borders feature diamond chains and checkered patterns flanking a main border with starburst, flower box designs in the field colors as well as lattice panels at each short end. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishes with a kilim skirt and knotted ivory fringe to each end. The second rug features a series of Tekke guls running the length, in ivory, sapphire blue and white on a scarlet red ground, flanked by partial arrowhead hooked medallions. It has a stylized flower and reticulated style primary border in the field colors, and compound guard borders in arrow tip soldier patterns and diamond chains. It also has a lattice panel at the short ends. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishes with a kilim skirt and knotted ivory fringe to each end. Both are not labeled.
