A hand colored lithographic print after J.F. Herring Sen. titled Evening. This lithographic print has been hand colored with a paint wash over its printed surface. This piece depicts a rural 19th Century street scene with several horses and a dog partially silhouetted in the setting sun. It is titled ‘Evening’ to the lower margin cut out through the mat. This piece is signed in-plate to the lower right corner ‘J.F. Herring Sen’. This piece is presented in an open wooden frame, with a mat, and a wire hanger to its verso.

Condition

- moderate to severe discoloration to image and mat; slight wrinkling to ground; minor wear to frame.
