A pair of early 20th-century hand-colored lithograph prints on paper after 19th-century botanical images. Featured is Gastrochilus after artist Joseph Paxton (1803 – 1865), as well as a similar print after an unknown artist depicting a dogwood flower. The prints are unsigned, matted and presented under glass in matching gold tone wooden frames, each fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- to poor; severe toning, staining, discoloration and foxing to prints and matting; wrinkling to ground; edge wear, loose joints and small nicks to frames; tears and discoloration to frame backings.
