Mounted Tsuba with Monkey

A mounted tsuba crossguard with a monkey. This tsuba, or decorative Japanese sword crossguard, is created in a cross pattern as if a set of metal bars, with gold-toned ‘x’ crosshatches at the joints; from one side, a monkey in a gold-toned vest beckons to the viewer while climbing on the ‘bars’. The tsuba has been mounted for display one a black wooden base. Unsigned.

- mild scuffs to base; shadow of a sticker to the underside.
