1940s–50s Movie and Product Ads Including Bing Crosby and Vaughan Monroe

An assortment of advertisements from the 1940s and early 1950s. This collection includes advertisements for movies such as Little Women (MGM, 1949) with Elizabeth Taylor and Janet Leigh, The Forest Rangers (Paramount, 1942) with Fred MacMurray, and Buck Benny Rides Again (Paramount, 1940) starring Jack Benny; other pieces include a 1947 ad with Bing Crosby endorsing the Philco portable phonograph and a 1952 image promoting a newspaper series on ‘Ingrid Bergman’s Love Story’. Three of these advertisements, all published in 1947, are formatted as color comic strips: an ad for the RKO picture Magic Town with James Stewart and Jane Wyman, an ad for Vaughan Monroe’s album Dreamland Special (RCA P-160),
and an ad for Johnson’s Carnu featuring radio personalities Fibber McGee and Molly.
