Item Details

A finely hand-knotted Persian Isfahan area rug. This wool rug begins with a round medallion with stylized flowers in a palette of sage, dark blue, rust, peach, plum and sapphire blue over an ivory field. It includes prominent pendants hanging from the medallion and a field filled with arabesqued floral and vine designs. The field is framed by a compound borders including a herati main border flanked by minor borders featuring shah abassi palmettes, lobed flower heads and sawtooth designs. The rug finishes with overcast selvedges and a short kilim skirts with knotted fringe at each end. Unlabeled.
