A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Bakhtiari wool and silk accent rug. This garden themed rug is rendered in a palette of aqua, ivory, rose, olive, rust, icy blue, mauve, sand, and apricot. The paneled field features alternating images of potted flowers, and perched birds atop flower arrangements, each framed in a crenelated diamond medallion, and enclosed in a running water border with floral motifs to each spandrel of the panel. Framing the field is a main border patterned with trees, flowering branches and palmettes, while guarded with carnation meander borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
