An original signed seascape etching by artist Sears Gallagher (American, 1869-1955). The Expressionistic work depicts pounding waves hitting a rocky shoreline, with the moment caught when a tall wave approaches and the water is being pulled back to sea. The work is drawn in a minimalist manner, with intense dark masses used for the rock forms and open white spaces for the water.
