A late 19th century landscape engraving after listed artist George Smillie (American, 1840 – 1921). The Romantic style work depicts a rugged mountainous landscape with windswept conifer trees to the mid ground, growing on a rock-strewn slop, with steep cliffs to the left backgournd and towering mountain peaks and lake to the distant horizon. The engraving is signed to plateto the lower left corner and dated to plate to the right corner. The piece is unframed. Additional information about the artist is included in the enclosed link.
