A collection of relief prints on paper by artist Bill Schiffer. These works are created using a small repeating stamps arranged to create pattern, shape, and movement on their compositional plane. These six artworks are composed of a variety of stamped relief imagery including the words ‘FILE’, ‘RUSH’ and ‘RED’. These works are signed to the lower edge of the picture plane and dated 1976. They are presented unframed.

Born in New York, Bill Schiffer rose to prominence as a painter and sculptor in the early 1980s. Though he still works in many two dimensional and three dimensional art mediums, Schiffer is most well known for his unique handcrafted jewelry, which he started designing after a foray experimenting with wearable art in the fashion scene. Bill Schiffer’s art and jewelry has been shown in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, as well as major museums in Italy, Japan, Germany and the United States. His work has been featured in publications including Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, Women’s Wear Daily, Seventeen and Cosmopolitan.
