1962 Letter from Jawaharlal Nehru to Herbert Marshall with Photograph and Book

A 1962 letter from Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964), Prime Minister of India, to Herbert Marshall. The letter is dated August 18 and it refers to Marshall’s letter of August 14 which invited Nehru to see a play. It is signed in blue ink, ‘Jawaharlal Nehru’. Accompanying the letter is a black and white photograph of Nehru, his wife and daughter, Indira. The back of the photo is marked in pencil, ‘H.M. + Nehru Nov. 5, 1959.’. Lastly, a hardcover book entitled Panditji A Portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru by Marie Seton, London, 1967 is included. The book is inscribed by Herbert Marshall and dated, 1968.
