Assorted Letters to Herbert Marshall from 1940 - 1965

A group of letters from the 1940’s to 1965 addressed to Herbert Marshall pertaining to various theatrical, film and Russian translation projects. All are signed in ink. Includes two typewritten letters signed and dated 1947 and 1948 from British theatre and film director Peter Brook (1925-); an August 1954 letter from renowned Polish artist, muralist and painter, Felika Topolski (1907-1989) referring to a ‘fifty-fifty’ share in the film, Topolski Mural Film; a May 9 typed letter (no year cited) from famed British actress, Sybil Thornkike (1886-1976), best known for her lead role in Shaw’s play, Saint Joan; and a 1965 letter from Lawrence Ferlinghetti (1919- ) co-founder of City Lights Books Publishing, asking Marshall to translate some works. Attached to this letter is a typed list titled, ‘List of Poems Sent to Ferlinghetti’.
