An autograph from internationally acclaimed and award winning pianist, Van Cliburn (1934-2013). The autograph is executed in black ink on paper and reads, ‘with my best wishes, Van Cliburn’.
Van Cliburn attended Juillard School at age 17, and had his Carnegie Hall debut at age 20. In 1958, at the first International Tchaikovsky Competition, Cliburn’s first place achievement was the starting point of his global fame. Other honors include: 2010 National Medal of Arts, Kennedy Center Honors, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, 2004 Order of Friendship from President Valdimir Putin and a 2003 Presidential Medal of Freedom.
