A Shaker rocking chair. Shaker furniture is noted for its minimalist design which can be seen in this rocking chair. It features hardwood construction with matte black paint finish and unturned stiles and box stretchers. The back styles boast a simple acorn finial and the front and rear stiles have been reattached to the lightly curvilinear rockers with screws. The chair is attributed as authentic shaker and has been reupholstered in a a red a grey-green cotton basket weave webbing.
