Eveready Pocket Watch Meter and Bronze "The Minutemen" Bicentennial Medal

Item Details

A vintage Eveready pocket watch meter and a bronze ‘The Minutemen’ U.S. Bicentennial commemorative medal. The pocket watch meter, designed to measure volts and amperes, was a common tool used in the first half of the 20th century to test battery operated and electrical devices. A description of how the device worked can be found at the link listed under ‘Additional Information’ below. Also included is a 1976 issued bronze U.S. Bicentennial commemorative medal. The obverse of the medal depicts a soldier in front of two flags – the thirteen star U.S. flag, and the fifty star U.S. flag, lettering across the top which reads ‘The Minutemen’, and the dates ‘1776 – 1976’ along the bottom. Thirteen stars, seven to the left side and six to the right side, fill the border between the wording at the top and dates at the bottom. The reverse depicts an American eagle in front of the same flags with lettering across the top which reads ‘United States of America’, the date ‘1776’ between the poles of the two flags above the eagle, the date ‘1976’ between the poles of the two flags below the eagle, ‘Bicentennial’ along the bottom, and thirteen stars – six to the left and seven to the right sides.
