A limited edition offset lithograph on paper titled The Great Auk after an original painting by well-listed renowned American wildlife illustrator and naturalist John A. Ruthven (Cincinnati, born 1924). The print depicts an auk standing on a rock about to enter the fierce waves of the sea below. It is signed within the plate to the lower right, and is signed and numbered 9 out of an edition of 200 in pencil to the lower margin. It is marked with a blind stamp from the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History to the lower left corner, and the title is printed to the center. It is presented behind a cream colored ivory mat with a beige liner, under glass, in a silver tone and black wood frame. It is ready to hang with a wire.
