Vintage Native American-Style Painted Log Drum

A vintage Native American-Style log drum. This hand drum in the Pueblo style has a frame of a hollowed, debarked log, and double heads of hide attached with sinew. The face features a design of a Plains Indian-style war bonnet, while the back features a design of crossed ceremonial ‘peace pipes’ – both common motifs for the tourist market – painted in primary colors. It is unsigned.

- cracking to hide head; wear and scratches to heads and wood; some sinews loose or broken; hide and sinews brittle; untested.
