Brass Fireman's Helmet

Item Details

A brass fireman’s helmet. This piece features the helmet, dragon crest, and band from of the Merryweather design of British fire helmet used in the late 19th and early 20th century. A French ‘Sapeur Pompiers’ (firefighters) badge has been affixed to the front with two brass pins.

Condition

- metal dent and scratched throughout; missing chin strap; front badge is not original to piece; chipping to front badge, with abrasions from original badge visible beneath.
