Pastel on paper

An original signed pastel on paper by listed artist Mary Schaefer. The Abstract Expressionistic work depicts a young woman with long hair, a colorful flower tucked behind her left ear, her features delineated in a surreal cubist manner with an elongated face, and with her left eye closed and right eye fixed in a disturbing stare. The portrait is drawn in a blue green palette with shading in pink, blue, green and white. The work is pencil-signed to the lower right margin and presented under glass in a gray mat with pink and blue lined border and a silver-painted beveled wood frame. The piece is wired to the back for wall hanging.
