Item Details
A contemporary c. 1989 encaustic on canvas mounted on board work by a Scottish artist. The Minimalist piece has an organic modern vibe, with a depiction of four to five circles shades of red, blue and gold, partially exposed after the artist partially skimmed away areas of wax and with their shapes outlined in an incised manner by cutting through the wax. The canvas surface is diffused beneath a layer of translucent off white wax, with diffused amorphous shapes in various shades seen has vague images beneath the wax layer. The unframed work is unsigned and has a white painted band to the lower edge.
