A contemporary c. 1989 encaustic on board work by a Scottish artist. The Minimalist piece has an organic modern vibe, with a depiction of two kidney shapes joined by fine lines, their deep colors exposed after the artist partially carved away areas of wax. The canvas surface is diffused beneath a layer of translucent off white wax, with diffused linear shapes in red and black seen has vague images beneath the wax layer. The unframed work is unsigned and has a hook to the top for hanging.
