A contemporary c. 1989 encaustic on canvas mounted on board work by a Scottish artist. The Minimalist piece has a subtle, rather mysterious aura, with its depiction of amorphous shapes, some elongated, some small brushstrokes of color, diffused beneath a layer of translucent off white wax, with one small area of gradated red orange color revealed at the lower edge. The unframed work is unsigned.

minor marks throughout due to the nature of the encaustic medium, crack across the wax at the top, edge wear
