Vintage to Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Anatolian Wool Kilim Rug
Item Details
A late 19th-early 20th century hand woven wool Anatolian kilim runner. The runner is designed with a center rectangle having indigo blue corners framing a serrated-edge diamond medallion to the center, featuring a hooked gul medallion in blue green with a black and cobalt blue diamond center accented with a gold cruciform. To each end are tomato red rectangles bordered in gradated green to indigo blue gul motifs and featuring to the center an ivory crab gul medallion with chocolate brown and beige diamond accented with an indigo blue cruciform. The three panels are separated by bands in ‘running water borders’ in cream backgrounds with tomato red, indigo blue and celadon green. The runner is finished to the sides with overcast stitching and to the ends with short cream fringe with attached kilim skirts. It is unlabeled.
