A late 19th-early 20th century unsigned Chinese free standing burl wood sculpture. The naturalistic work depicts two long-legged birds perched on a wonderfully expressive tree burl, with sinuous branches springing from the center burl in an explosive and energetic manner. The birds are also composed of tree burls, with necks and bills carved and refined. The sculpture has a dynamite nature, from different angles assuming a unique appearance.
