A mid-century replica figure in cast bronze after listed Italian artist Edoardo Rubino (1871 – 1954). The piece depicts the statue of a 19th-century soldier that stands at the base of the Carabinieri Monument in Torino, Italy. The piece is inscribed and signed in mold to the front of the metal base with text of ‘Statua del Monumento Nazionale al Carabiniere – Torino – Scultori E. Rubino’; it also includes a Fonderia Laganà (Naples) foundry marking to the verso that reads ‘Fond Art Laganà, Napoli’. The sculpture is mounted to a rectangular base of variegated brown marble, which bears a metal plate to the front reading ‘Legione Carabinieri Livorno, 15 – 12 – 1964’.
