A Royal Doulton Prince Philip of Spain character jug. This limited edition glazed ceramic mug was designed to commemorate ‘the wedding of Queen Mary I to Prince Philip of Spain 1554’. The figure is decorated dressed in what appears to be a military uniform and hat. The handle is shaped as a rolled document stamped with a red seal adorned with applied decoration including a cross. Marked to the underside ‘Hand Made and Hand Decorated, Royal Doulton Classics, Prince Philip of Spain, Made in England © 2003 Royal Doulton, Limited Edition of 1,000, This is No 421’ and housed in its original packaging.
