Large Power-Loomed Kerman-Style Area Rug

A large power-loomed Kirman area rug. This rug features a classic Persian Kerman design in a palette of cream, periwinkle, shades of pink, sapphire, and toffee. It begins with a cream-colored field densely patterned with small, crisp sprays of flowers and foliage. The design forgoes border edges in favor of simply surrounding the field with a riot of vase forms and bouquets over darker ground colors, including dusty pink and periwinkle. Selvedges are overcast. Ends feature applied tan fringe. Cleaning instructions are included on the reverse but no maker’s mark is present.
