Edie Harper Limited Edition Serigraph "Tree House"

Item Details

By Hand

A limited edition serigraph on paper titled Tree House by well-listed Cincinnati artist Edie Harper (1922 – 2010). This print depicts a group of stylized children playing in and peeking out of a tree house surrounded by a thick cushion of green foliage. It is signed, titled, and numbered ‘680/750’ by hand in graphite to the lower margins. The print is matted in white and presented behind glass in a silver tone metal frame with a hanging wire to the verso.

Edie Harper described herself as a “Jill of all trades trying to master one” since she had been successful in many areas of art including photography, wood sculpture, weaving, and jewelry design, as well as painting and printmaking. Her husband, well-known artist and illustrator Charley Harper, called her “the thinking man’s Bible illustrator.” Edie’s work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Andover Art Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, as well as many others.
