E.F. Higgins III Mail Art "Doo-Da Post"

A Doo-Da Post First Day of Issue envelope with four stamps from artist E.F. Higgins III (1949 – Present). This piece, in the style of a government issued First Day of Issue cover, includes an envelope with a sketch of a nude woman to the the left side, four stamps depicting a similar sketch of the same woman with text reading ‘Doo Da’ to the upper right corner, and a cancellation stamp reading ‘Doo-Da Post Canada Vancouver B.C.’ The envelope is signed by the artist and dated, 7-8-79, to the lower right corner. The stamp design is similar to those of his 1980 Sara Nude series. This envelope is presented behind glass, behind a light brown mat, in front of a white backing board, in a light tone wood frame wired for hanging.
