Hand-Knotted Indo-Tabriz Carpet Runner

Item Details

A hand-knotted Indo-Tabriz carpet runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, indigo, ochre, moss, sky blue, macaroon and clementine. Its ivory field begins with an oval medallion and large palmette pendants amid floral arabesques. Framing the field are compound borders, including a moss inner border containing floral arabesques along with two tree form borders flanking the main border filled with star and cruciform patterns grounded in hues of ochre. The rug finishes with overcast selvedges and a very short kilim skirt with knotted wool warp fringe at each end. Unlabeled.
