A group of four first edition vintage nature books by children’s author Thornton W. Burgess. Included is The Burgess Bird Book for Children, bound in blue cloth covered board with gilt and full color details and signed by the author to the flyleaf (Little, Brown, and Company, 1928). Also included are three unsigned first edition books: the illustrated Burgess Flower Book for Children (Little, Brown, and Company, 1923); Burgess Animal Book for Children (Little, Brown, and Company, 1920); and Burgess Seashore Book for Children (Little, Brown, and Company, 1929).
