After Matisse Serigraph "The Thousand and One Nights"

A serigraph on paper titled The One Thousand and One Nights after an original work by Henri Matisse (1869-1954). This abstract work, reproduced by the Museum of Art, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, features a vivid multicolored horizontal band of abstracted and nonobjective bold forms. Borders of small colorful hearts run parallel along the top and bottom of the main image. The work is signed in-plate in the lower right corner, and bears the name of the museum in black text along the bottom margin. A copyright in the far lower right reads ‘Page Editions, Inc. 1974’. It is presented under glass in a silver tone metallic frame. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

- to fair; toning and foxing on ground; debris beneath glass; residue across image; scratches and wear to metal frame.
