Hand-Knotted Floral Wool Area Rug

A hand-knotted floral wool area rug. This gorgeous rug is attributed to Lahore weavers of Pakistan, and rendered in a palette of indigo, brick, gold, terracotta, taupe, and silver. The deep indigo colored field features an infinity pattern with rows of ornate alternating pendant medallions, and filled with flowering branches and palmettes enclosed in cartouches. Framing the field is an elaborate herati patterned main border, with another herati pattern to a pair of guard borders, and a pair of floral meander minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine gold hued wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
