Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Sarouk Wool Room Size Rug

A hand-knotted Persian Sarouk wool room size rug. This gorgeous rug is rendered in a palette of carnelian, indigo, wheat, rose, sapphire, celedon, and ivory. The abrash carnelian colored field begins with a large diamond form floral arrangement, and features flower filled vases to the ends, along with elaborate flower sprays and bouquets throughout. Framing the field is an equally ornate main border of a stylized herati pattern, as well as floral patterned guard borders, and carnation meander minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends, with visible blue weft threads to the underside. Unlabeled.
