A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool room size rug. This elaborate rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, gold, ivory, powder blue, mauve, sage, silver, and camel. The intricately detailed field features an all-over Shah Abbasi pattern, as well as a bold star medallion with scalloped lozenges, and spandrels. The flower filled field is framed in an ornately stylized herati pattern, carrying the floral theme to the meandering guard borders, along with diamond patterned minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe to the ends, and it goes unlabeled.
