A semi-antique Persian handwoven wool Heriz area rug. The rug has an overall geometric pattern featuring a lozenge field adorned with an oversized central medallion and pendants along with mirrored stars, flowers and geometric foliage. The color palette of this rug is candy red, spruce, penny, rose, black and ivory. The candy red spandrels showcase complimenting designs and colors. Enclosing the field is an ivory main border with stylized carnation florets flanked by a pair of early Persian designs over candy red. The sides finish with single overcast selvages and natural warp fringe. Labeled to the verso ‘Made in Iran’.
