A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, slate, rose, ivory, mocha, and salmon. The cranberry colored field begins with a lozenge infilled with a hexagonal medallion, while featuring a herati pattern and floral motifs, as well as serrated edges. Framing the field is a main niche and floral patterned border, and S-patterned guard borders with checked minor borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a short ivory warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
