Item Details
A Persian gouache painting on laid paper of a ship scene. This painting depicts a crew of men wearing colored robes and turbans manning a multi-masted ship with drawn, gold tone sails. They pull at various ropes in order to properly steer it along choppy waters. The the lower margins is painted calligraphic text in Farsi. The painting is presented under glass in an ornately painted wooden frame with hanging wire and an adjustable stand to the verso.
Condition
- foxing to paper; debris under glass; minor creasing to paper; wear to corners and edges of frame.
