A mid to late 20th-century watercolor painting on paper by listed American artist Gina Schnaufer Knee (1898 – 1982). The piece depicts an abstract scene with overlapping shapes and lines that suggest animal forms, set against the backdrop of a distant castle. The work is rendered in pale hues of pink, coral, orange and blue against a cream ground. The painting is signed ‘Gina Knee’ in ink to the lower left. It is presented under glass and woven matting in a wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso. - to poor; staining, residue and discoloration present to paper and liner; toning and foxing throughout composition; edge wear, nicks and scratches to frame; tears and stains throughout frame’s backing paper.
