A mixed media painting on burlap of an abstract composition by listed New York artist Louis Papp (born 1930), created in 1992. This monochromatic work features irregular forms in relief emerging from a textured blue ground. The painting is signed and dated in paint to the verso. The composition remains unframed.

Louis Papp was a New York based artist known for his abstract, mixed media paintings. He was also a member of the Art Students League, a renowned and respected art school headquartered in Manhattan in the 1970’s and 80’s.
